Adam Lister, Coney Island
Float, Stack and Shift
Jan.22-Feb.28, 2010

Diana Adams, Jill Braman, Sarah Colby, Thuy Dong, Adam Lister, Robbie Namy, Stephanie Rivers, Dennis Tarnay, Chris Ulrich

The artists brought together for this exhibit make work that pays particular attention to space, movement, and placement.  The show emphasizes a variety of contemporary approaches in dealing with depth, color, and transformation.

The words in the title of this exhibit all have multiple definitions, giving the artwork included even more possible meanings.  "Float, Stack, and Shift" is about the speed of time, the sound of the color red, the bottom item in a pile, ladders that go nowhere, geometry, failure, adjustment, growth, memory, and the lonely weightlessness of a single flying object.
